Counseling for Children

Are you concerned about your child and . . .

  • Problem behaviors?

  • Self-esteem issues?

  • Aggression?

  • Social skills?

  • Anger issues?

Samaritan Interfaith's professional staff are experienced in working with children of all ages and their parents on a variety of issues such as:

Helping children manage anxiety and fearfulness

Problem behaviors at home and/or at school

Effective family leadership for parents and appropriate structure for children

Depression and low self-esteem

Helping children develop social skills and improve peer relationships

Transitions related to parental divorce

Adjusting to blended family relationships

Anger, aggression and acting out

Living with chronic illness

Identifying ADD and ADHD and providing family treatment in collaboration with the family physician.

Many of these problems can be solved through therapy that focuses on a child's strengths, helps them to develop self-control and new ways of coping.  The Children's Therapists at Samaritan Interfaith use a variety of age appropriate games, toys, and art materials to encourage imaginative and creative expression.  Often through these tools, children find ways to express themselves and describe their concerns.  Children and parents find counseling to be educational, enjoyable, and empowering for all family members.

Assessment Services

The skilled clinical staff at Samaritan can also offer testing and evaluation for:
