Stephen Ministry

As a faith-based counseling center, Samaritan Interfaith Counseling Center believes strongly in the compassionate caregiving of Stephen Ministries.  Because we recognize the valuable role of Stephen Ministers in local congregations, Samaritan Interfaith is committed to providing the highest quality education, support, and consultation to Stephen Ministers as they provide compassionate care to members of the congregation and community.

Samaritan Interfaith can be a valuable resource for Stephen Ministers by providing:

• Consultation Services – on a variety of issues such as what to do in high risk situations, when to utilize mental health referrals, etc.

• Educational Programming – a wide range of educational programming including depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, grief processes, and self care for Stephen Ministers.

• Stephen Leader Workshops – workshops to help Stephen Leaders on such topics as building an effective team, publicity and promotion of Stephen Ministry, caring for Stephen Ministers and Leaders.

• Yearly Stephen Ministry Retreat Day – Designed to bring about renewal, recommitment, refreshment, and community connection with other Stephen Leaders and Stephen Ministers.
