Samaritan Interfaith Counseling
Center was formed in 1971 by Knox Presbyterian Church, Our
Saviour’s
Lutheran Church and St. Raphael’s Catholic Church to
provide preventive and therapeutic counseling in family living
and related concerns for all, regardless of religious affiliation
or financial resources.
There are over a dozen area congregations who have joined the
original three as Partners in Ministry with Samaritan Interfaith
Counseling Center. These congregations take seriously their
commitment to make professional pastoral counseling services
available to their members and the larger community.
The goal of Samaritan Interfaith, through its relationship
with supporting congregations, is:
- To minister through pastoral counseling to people experiencing
mental or emotional stress or trauma
- To provide hope and enable change by promoting mental,
emotional and spiritual healing and growth
- To provide service to persons of all faiths
A Unique Partnership of Service
Supporting congregations are vital to our ministry.
The ongoing financial support of local congregations permits
us to provide pastoral counseling and psychotherapy with the
option of fee adjustments. Samaritan is ecumenical representing
many different faith traditions that support the Center.
As Partners in Ministry, the following congregations actively
promote the Center's professional and educational services to
their congregants; financially and spiritually support the work
of the Center; and participate in the direction of the Samaritan
Interfaith ministry through membership on the Center's Board
of Directors.
